Title
African Champion in 2021, Abdou Diallo will miss the AFCON 2025
Text

Housed in group D of the AFCON 2025 in Morocco, Senegal is announced among the pretenders to the coronation. A status that Pape Thiaw and his men intend to assume. It is moreover this Thursday that the coach will communicate his list of players selected for the competition and lift the veil around his choices. The technician will have to decide on the fly given the competition for certain positions.

Back operated in September and returned to training at the end of October, Abdou Diallo will not be there. African champion with the Lions and decisive during the tournament, the central defender will not be in this campaign, after having taken part in almost all of the qualifiers. A strong choice by Thiaw who deprives himself of one of his executives whom he had promoted captain against Ireland, but whom he had not summoned during the last international break given his state of fitness (he was then in the process of resuming training with his club, editor’s note). A warning sign.

Towards an active transfer market
The defender of Al Duhail SC will continue his return to competition to try to regain his sensations. Especially since his January might well be restless. According to information from Sport News Africa, Abdou Diallo is being tracked by several European groups. Currently involved in the Champions League, Olympiakos has inquired about their record, as well as Ligue 1 teams.
