Football: Morocco wins the 2025 Arab Cup
Text

A new trophy for Moroccan football. The Atlas Lions won  the Arab Cup by defeating Jordan (3-2) this Thursday. In a disputed final and breathtakingly suspense, the decision was made during extra time with Abderazzak Hamdallah in the role of the savior. Entered the game in the second period, the striker first allowed his side to equalize in the final minutes (87th), while the Jordanians were leading 2-1.

He then scored his again, with the winning goal (100th) to propel his team to the top. Inevitably disappointed, the Jordanians will have sold their skins dearly. Trailing despite Oussama Tannane’s opening goal on a lob from his half of the field (4'), they first recovered before taking the lead on the penalty thanks to Olwan (48', 68').

But they will eventually give up before the end of regulation time, then in extra time see the title slip by. A title that remains on the African continent, since after Algeria, it is therefore Morocco that registers its name on the list of winners and wins the trophy for the 2nd time after 2012.
