Faced with questions at the pre-match presser ahead of the Cameroon – Switzerland showdown, Rigobert Song looked unfazed as he answered with some calmness.
At the helm of the indomitable Lions for over 7 months, the man with the most caps for Cameroon (137) will oversee his first competition as coach of the team.
The gaffer looked at ease as he answered to questions posed him at the presser. He stated that Cameroon is ready and all that remains is to get the ball rolling.
“Everything is done. We are ready, we are just waiting for the kick-off to show what we are capable of. The serenity is there and all of us know what do do on the pitch tomorrow,” said the gaffer.
The last time the Indomitable Lions won a game in the World Cup, coach Rigobert Song was active. It was in 2002 against Saudi Arabia courtesy a one-nil victory with the lone goal scored by Samuel Eto’o.
Rigobert Song is winless in the last four games as coach of the indomitable Lions since that miraculous 2-1 victory against Algeria in Blida back in March.
It will be a glorious feat if Rigobert Song, 46, can pilot the Indomitable Lions to victory in their first game of group G. Cameroon plays the first game on the schedule tomorrow Thursday 24, at 11 am.
