World Cup 2022: All you need to know about FIFA bonuses

The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced its overall budget for the 2022 World Cup with a massive 29% increase bringing the total to 965,525,000 euros of which 424,831,000 euros will be distributed among the 32 participating countries according to their ranking in the competition.

The remaining 637,121,100 euros will be used as a solidarity fund for less developed federations, club benefits and club insurance or player protection schemes.

According to figures released by FIFA, the actual prize money available for the final tournament is 424,831,000 euros, which is 38,529,200 euros more than the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Four years ago the prize money was 385,308,000 euros.

A qualification for the 2022 World Cup opens the door to a participation bonus estimated at 1,454,025 euros to each of the 32 teams engaged on the starting line.

The sixteen (16) teams eliminated during the group stage as Tunisia will be entitled to a premium 8 745 750 euros. The eighth finalists (8 teams eliminated), will receive 12 613 185 euros each while the four (04) teams eliminated in the quarters will receive 16 477 675 euros each.

Finishing fourth will earn 24,236,625 euros. The country that finishes third will receive 26,164,215 euros. The team that loses in the final will be rewarded with 29,067,450 euros and the winning country will receive 40,701,570 euros.

The 22nd edition of the World Cup of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is taking place since November 20 in Qatar. The competition meets until December 18, 2022 to know the winner.
