Cameroon - Olympic Committee: Hamad Kalkaba re-elected President

No change in the presidency of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon (Cnosc). Hamad Kalkaba Malboum was re-elected as president on Thursday, January 26, 2023 for a two-year term. It was during a General Assembly held at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé, the capital.

The election of Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, also outgoing president of the Confederation of African Athletics, is not a surprise. The 72-year-old leader was indeed the only candidate in the race during this election. He obtained 82.86% of the valid votes cast. A reason for pride. "I am happy to have benefited from the confidence of my peers," said the lucky winner.

The president of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon places his mandate under the sign of improving governance and performance of athletes at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. "I will be particularly interested in the establishment of a governance worthy of Cameroonian sport. And then, prepare our athletes so that Cameroon can win medals at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024," he promised.
