Al Ahly beat (27-24 ) Zamalek to win the African Super Cup of Handball 2023. The Cairo club is in the process qualified for the 2023 IHF Men's Super Globe.
Zamalek reached the final after dominating JS Kinshasa of DR Congo in the semi-final 46-25. While Al Ahly qualified directly after the withdrawal of Esperance Sportive de Tunis.
Under Spanish coach David Davis, Al Ahly has now won three titles this season, having also achieved the national double (Cup, league).
