Côte d'Ivoire's 3-0 thrashing by Zambia on Matchday 5 of the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers has called into question Jean-Louis Gasset's credibility as coach of the Elephants. The French coach has toned things down, saying "We've still got 6 months to go".
But the coach is not optimistic. "At every meeting, some players score points and others lose them, but it's true that in certain areas of the game we haven't found the solution," said the coach. He will have to find solutions at the next meeting in September, or risk seeing his job threatened just a few months away from the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
