Group A of the U23 AFCON has just delivered its verdict. Morocco, who have already qualified for the semi-finals, beat Congo 1-0 on Friday. In the other match, Guinea drew with Ghana (1-1). The Guineans now have the other ticket to the semi-finals.

A happy ending for Guinea. In their last-four clash with Ghana, the Guineans drew 1-1 to book their second ticket to the semi-finals. It was the match of the 3rd day in pool A.

Guinea got off to a strong start in the first half. The young Syli tried their luck three times in the first quarter of an hour, but failed to find the net. Their dominance was unchallenged, while Ghana contented themselves with defending. But little by little, the Ghanaians began to get their heads above water. They even opened the scoring through Emmanuel Yeboah (33rd). They went into the break with a one-goal advantage.

With their backs against the wall, the Guineans needed at least an equaliser to progress to the semi-finals. They did just that on the hour mark, when Ibrahima Breze Fofana volleyed home from outside the area to level the scores.Ghana threw everything they had into the battle to get back in front, but to no avail.With 4 points, Guinea are second in Group A of this CAN U23.They qualify for the semi-finals thanks to a better goal difference than Ghana, who also have 4 points (+1 against -3).

Morocco make it 3 on 3 Despite a reshuffled team, Morocco got off to an ideal start in their match against Congo on Matchday 3. Younes Taha opened the scoring in the 7th minute when he was set up well by Oussama Targhalline. Trailing without a point so far, the Congolese tried to react but were thwarted by the Moroccan defence.The hosts went into the break with a goal to nil.

The score remained unchanged in the second half. Morocco won their third match in three outings at this competition (9 pts, +6). Congo, on their part, finished with 0 points. The Atlas Cubs are sending out a strong message with a view to the semi-finals.
