After its historic AFCON 2023 (eighth finalist), Mauritania has decided to reward Amir Abdou. The coach, whose contract with the Mourabitounes was due to expire on March 1, 2024, has been extended by the Mauritanian Football Federation. His lease runs until 2026. The Comorian technician is due to take part in a number of events, including the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco. He was also on Algeria's radar.
