Francis Ngannou will face Anthony Joshua this March 8 in a boxing match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After a remarkable first outing against Tyson Furry, the Cameroonian fighter wants to make his mark again against the Briton. Victory isn't his first motive, he told DAZN Boxing.
"I'm worried about how I'm going to fight. Unlike Anthony Joshua, I'm not focused on the championship, the title... I want a good fight, to take up the challenge, to test myself. I'm not young anymore, I've got a few years left. I didn't have this opportunity earlier in my career, so now I want to make the most of the time I have to have the best fights," Francis Ngannou declared.
He adds: "I'm not dependent on winning. I'm dependent on the fight. What's going to happen? Of course I want to win, but I could win without really fighting. That's not the kind of victory I'm looking for. I really want to fight and when you really fight, even if you lose, people want to see you again. And that's what this sport is all about. Obviously one person will win and the other will lose, but it takes two to dance."
