On their return from the 2023 African Cup of Nations, Guinea Bissau decided to close the era of Baciro Candé, the technician who qualified the Djurtus for their three Africa Cup of Nations finals. His successor is now known. It's Luis Boa Morte Pereira. Guinea Bissau insider Léon Gomis gave the news on his social networks. "The Portuguese coach, who hails from Sao Tome and Principe, will take up his post at the end of the season. He is currently under contract with Fulham, where he is assistant coach," writes Léon Gomis.

Luis Boa Morte Pereira has played for major clubs such as Sporting, Arsenal, West Ham and Southampton. The former attacking midfielder, now 46, also played six months for Orlando Pirates in South Africa.
