Former Burkina Faso international Alain Traoré, who plays in the Djibouti league for AS Arta Solar 7, is always grateful to AJ Auxerre. The player said of the town, which he left in 2012."Auxerre is my home. I arrived from Africa as a kid who knew nothing. I learned European soccer, I went to school, I became a professional, I became a man. This is my town, and when people ask me where I'm from, I say Auxerre. The midfielder arrived in France in 2006. He played 65 games for the Burgundy club, scoring 15 goals.
