The recent visit of a delegation of CAF to Cameroon, has reviewed the specifications of the organization of the draw ceremony of the AFCON 2021, scheduled for June 25 in Yaounde.
A mission of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) visited Cameroon from 9 to 12 May. The delegation led by the director of competitions Samsun Adamu was in charge of inspecting the Palais Polyvalent des Sports in Yaounde. The infrastructure will host the draw ceremony of the African Cup of Nations 2021 on June 25.
And the conclusions of this inspection mission are particularly good for the host country. "By confronting the theoretical requirements of CAF with the reality, we realize that there is an adequacy. Between the imperatives of the specifications and the answers offered by this Sports Palace in terms of distribution of rooms, volume. And technological amenities in phase with CAF," reassures the Cameroonian Minister of Sports, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.
Of course, the inspection of the Palais Polyvalent des Sports of Yaounde was the main focus of this mission. In terms of technical guidelines, the host country is required to have 2 digital microphones and wireless headsets. A minimum of 4 wireless microphones, 2 PC audio inputs and HD audio outputs are also required.
The main hall of the Palais des Sports should have at least one giant HD screen, and several Led screens. Cameroon must provide two monitors to the CAF computer control office. In addition, a high speed internet connection of minimum 20 megabits per second. An internet bandwidth for the broadcast of the ceremony on the official website of CAF, and its pages on social networks are also required.
TV production facilities
For the TV production, the list of required equipment includes: 5 HD cameras, 3 x40 lenses minimum and 2 x15 lenses. A slow-motion video server, an Xdcam VTRS, a USB recorder, 5 USB sticks. A video mixer with a minimum of 16 inputs is required. As well as an audio console with at least 16 microphones, 12 outputs, 2 cranes, a dynamic effects generator, a compressor, a timer and a 4 band equalizer.
The host country should also provide an audiobox for noise cancellation, a video grid, a 16x16 intercom matrix, 2 telephone encoders. Microphones for the TV production set-up. Lights, audio-video cables for TV production and a generator. For the satellite transmission, a KU-band antenna with a medium size of 1m20 is also provided. In addition to a minimum 200 watt amplifier, detailed associated monitoring, video monitor etc.
For the press, CAF requires the establishment of a media center. It must be able to accommodate a minimum of 150 journalists. The center must have a Wi-Fi connection, extension cables, two televisions, a high-speed printer, a photocopier, seats with shelves and desks.
