The draw for the 2021 African Cup of Nations, which was scheduled for June 25th in Yaoundé, has been postponed
The draw ceremony for the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Cameroon 2021, will no longer take place on June 25th in Yaounde. The event has been postponed to a later date.
The decision taken by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), follows a request from the Local Organizing Committee. The host country of the tournament requested a postponement "for logistical reasons related to the Covid-19 pandemic". The CAF press release, also indicates that the new date of the draw "will be announced in due course".
As a reminder, the final phase of the AFCON 2021 will be held from January 9 to February 6, 2022 in Cameroon. It will be the second edition with 24 nations, after the one organized by Egypt two years ago.
