AFCON 2025: Emam Ashour returns, Omar Sayed absent, Egypt's squad list

The first definitive squad lists for AFCON 2025  are starting to be announced. After South Africa, the DRC, and Cameroon, it is now Egypt's turn to reveal its 28 players. Coach Hossan Hassam has made his choices. Emam Ashour is making his comeback to the national team. As for Omar Sayed, he is absent and will not play in the continental tournament, which runs from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, in Morocco.

Egypt has been drawn in Pool B with Angola, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. The Pharaohs will play their first match against the Zimbabwe Warriors on December 22, 2025, at 8 p.m. GMT in Agadir.
