AFCON 2025 - Emerse Faé: "We’re going to Morocco to do it hard"

Facing the media on Tuesday after the publication of the list of Elephants for AFCON 2025, Emerse Faé answered several questions. The return of Zaha, the absences of Nicolas Pépé, Simon Adingra and Wilfried Singo and the objective of Côte d'Ivoire are among others on the menu. Without any wooden language, the coach clearly displayed his ambitions. As the reigning African champion, the Ivorian team will land in the Cherifian kingdom to lift the trophy again. 

“We’re going to Morocco to be strong. We have a very close-knit group. The players call us that they are ready and that they have the same objective as the technical staff. They are motivated to win the AFCON and bring back the 4th star. We go to win. There is no additional pressure. We will fight and wet the jersey to go as far as possible,"

 he said. 

Côte d'Ivoire will do its preparation stage in Marbella, Spain, before making its first outing in group F at the 2025 AFCON against Mozambique. It will be on December 24, 2025, at 17:30 GMT, at the Marrakech stadium.
