Cameroon: David Pagou explains why senior players have been left out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations squad

At a press conference, David Pagou, the new coach of the Indomitable Lions, refuted the suggestion that the absence of Vincent Aboubakar, André Onana, and other key players from Cameroon's squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations was a settling of scores.

"They are good footballers, mature players. I know them personally [...] A coach has to make choices. To choose, you have to eliminate. We wanted to do things differently. They are good players, but we set our sights on others to create a different mindset," 

defended the new head of the Cameroonian national team, as reported by Allezleslions.
