Elye Wahi under investigation for suspicious bets

The French justice system has opened an investigation against Elye Wahi following consistent alerts regarding bets of several thousand euros made in different countries during the last day of Ligue 1. However, the bets did not concern a goal by the striker but a yellow card.

Warned shortly after the half-hour of play in this crucial match for his club, OGC Nice, the Ivorian international was then heard on May 29 by the police and released according to The Athletic.

According to information from Sport News Africa, the French authorities are now seeking to recover game data in other countries (bets on cards being prohibited in France) and are continuing their investigations.
