Mali: Airness proposes to terminate its contract with FEMAFOOT

As the team behind the Aigles du Mali for over 25 years, Airness may no longer dress the various Malian selections in the coming months. Through a statement, the founding president of Airness, Malamine Koné, proposed an amicable termination of the contract with FEMAFOOT. He also recalled that for 5 years he paid the salaries of the various breeders in Mali and was never against a call for tenders to choose a new supplier.

"It is in a desire for appeasement and in order to preserve the best interests of Malian football, that I recently proposed an amicable termination of the current contract which ran until 2028, thus allowing the new leaders to organize a new call for tenders under the best conditions. Even more, and in a strong gesture of responsibility and patriotism, I gave up without hesitation all the debts related to equipment overruns. This decision reflects my deep conviction: Mali and its football must always come before financial interests. However, I regret that some misunderstandings and public statements may have given rise to interpretations that are far removed from the spirit of collaboration and mutual respect that has always guided this historic relationship. I would also like to recall that, whatever the outcome of the future call for tenders, my moral, human, and patriotic support for the Eagles of Mali will remain intact.”
