The CAF Executive Committee has officially approved the transition of Mauritania to the North African Football Union (UNAF). This change of zone, at the request of the Mauritanian Football Federation (FFRIM), now allows clubs and selections in the country to evolve in competitions and training programs of North Africa.
This departure mechanically leads to a reorganization of the UFOA-A zone, which now tightens around eight nations: Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Cape Verde.
