No Montaigu tournament for Cameroon in 2026

Despite the announcement by FECAFOOT and the start of the U16 preparation course last December, Cameroon is not expected to participate in the Montaigu Tournament in 2026. To the media Allez les Lions, the tournament management admits not counting on the Cameroonian selection for the 2026 edition.

«Indeed, the Cameroonian Football Federation announced the participation of Cameroon in the Montaigu World Cup, to our great surprise. However, other teams have been invited and we are not counting on the presence of a Cameroonian team this year,". 

For the 2026 edition of the Montaigu Tournament, France, China, Ivory Coast and Brazil share group A. Group B is composed of Japan, Peru, Mexico and Portugal.
