The groups of three will stressfully produce group winners in the CHAN 2022, especially group D. On Friday, they again recorded a draw between Angola and Mauritania. In group E, also composed of three nations, Congo drew against Niger. Note that no goal was scored in two games on Friday.
Angola no longer has its destiny in hand. In a group (D) with only three teams, the local Palancas Negras drew again on Friday, January 20, against Mauritania (0-0) at the CHAN 2022 in Algeria. A result that greatly compromises their chance to qualify for the quarterfinals.
However, everything remains possible for Mauritania which will face Mali on Tuesday, January 24 at 4 pm in the third and final day of the group. The winner of the match will take the only ticket at stake in the group. Note that in two days, no team has yet won in this group. Angola and Mali had drawn (1-1) in the first day.
Good point for Niger, Congo out
In Group E of the CHAN, the danger was on the side of Congo Brazzaville who faced Niger this Friday, January 20 for the second day of the group. The Congo conceded a 0-0 draw, synonymous with elimination, after the opening loss to Cameroon (0-1).
In the first half, both teams were poor in game development. The two formations failed to produce chances. Only the Congolese managed to hit the target (3 times). If we could expect better in the second half, it will be nothing. No goal was scored in the end. With this draw, Niger (2nd, 1 pt) can hope to qualify if they win against Cameroon (1st, 3 pts) in the 3rd day.
