Mathias Pogba was placed in custody on Wednesday, September 14 in Nanterre. According to information from RMC Sport and Le Monde, Paul's brother was summoned by police officers in charge of the investigation into the extortion case that is shaking French soccer. The same sources inform that three other individuals have been placed in custody in connection with the same case.
These arrests come two months after the complaint filed in Italy by Paul Pogba. The latter points to attempts to extort funds between March and July. His brother, Mathias Pogba would be part of the criminals.
The case broke out in broad daylight on August 27 after the publication by the latter of a video where he announced serious revelations about his brother and Kylian Mbappé. Previously, on the 3rd, the Paris prosecutor's office had opened a preliminary investigation.
On September 2, the prosecutor launched a judicial investigation. Among other charges, extortion with a weapon, kidnapping or kidnapping in an organized gang and participation in a criminal association.
