Andre Ayew (31) is enjoying life this season at Swansea. The Ghanaian striker, author of 16 goals and 4 assists, has helped his team reach the play-offs in the Championship (English D2).
Swansea are counting on Andre Ayew for this season. The race for the top of the table is going to be very exciting. Andre Ayew and his partners have secured their ticket to the play-offs. But the Swans will have to give it their all if they are to join Watford and Norwich in the Premier League.
The Blacks Stars captain has been a key figure at Swansea and has been the club's star player. His 16 goals and 4 assists in the Championship (English D2) are proof of this. A performance that allowed his team to finish the regular season in 4th place with 80 points.
After playing for Marseille in France, the talented striker joined Swansea City in the Premier League during the 2015-2016 season. There, he notably played the leading roles in attack. The following year, he was transferred to West Ham and then Ayew returned to Swansea in 2017-2018, a club that loaned him out for a year to Fenerbahce in Turkey. Ayew returns to Wales this year. Currently, he is trying to get his club up to the Premier League.
Future uncertain with the Swans
Andre Ayew's contract is due to expire in June and he is not sure whether he should stay at the club or try a new challenge. But for now, he remains focused on the play-offs. "When you start thinking about that (his future at the club), it takes away some of your focus. And I don't want that," the Black Stars captain told FourFourTwo.
The former Marseille man will therefore choose a club where he will play as much as possible. According to him, "there is the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup in 2022". So, he adds, "I have to be in the best possible shape for that, because they are very important for me," he says.
