Senegal has a new player in its midst. His name: Bouna Sarr. The right back of Bayern Munich has finally joined the Tanière. The long years of diligent courting by the Senegalese national coach has paid off. The 29 year old player is savoring it.
In an interview with the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), he explains his joy to join the Lions of Teranga. "It is a joy for me to be here so I will do my best for the team. My objective is to contribute to the building of this group. To bring something extra with my qualities and to make the team better".
The former Olympique de Marseille player also chose Senegal because of the good feedback he received. For Bouna Sarr, the atmosphere is always paramount. "My new teammates have welcomed me very well. I am also lucky to know some of them. I played with some of them at club level. So that makes it easier for me to integrate. And it's always a plus for me to arrive in a group like this. The group seems to live well. I think there is a good understanding between the players. And that's also why I came, because I had good feedback from Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy. This is also something that motivated me and pushed me to join the national team.''
Bouna Sarr will have the opportunity to showcase himself in this double confrontation against Namibia. The matches will take place on 9 and 12 October. The Bayern player will be able to silence the many sceptics.
