CAF Women’s CL: Top scorer Evelyn Badu targets the ultimate trophy

Ghanaian international and Hasaacas Ladies FC midfielder, Evelyn Badu revealed that she wishes to lift the CAF Women's Champions League currently underway in Egypt.

The 19-year old and her side, Hasaacas Ladies have won their first two group matches with Evelyn scoring in each game.

Evelyn Badu delivered another two-goal episode for her team to win the Woman of The Match award for the second time in a row.
Speaking exclusively to our reporter, the leading scorer of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League stated.

The women’s premier league in Ghana is not live on television. It was just two season ago and last season that we had the final games on television but this tournament , my mother back home is able to watch me play . That is my biggest motivation .”she revealed.

I want to make her happy when she watches me play so I am encouraged to put up a good performance because I know she is watching me.

She scored a brace against Malabo Kings and AS Mande in their second group game making her the top scorer with four goals so far.

This is my first playing in a big International tournament like this and honestly, I didn’t think I would be the star of the tournament. I thank God for His grace because I know I am a good player but I didn’t know God’s grace will shine on me like this .

I am sure any player in my position would be happy so I am very that I am having a good tournament so far .”

The midfielder who also plays for Ghana’s U20 women’s national team says it is her hope her side wins the trophy.

“I hope is for Hasaacas Ladies to lift the trophy because as a team, whenever there is a trophy at stake, we don’t leave it behind. We want to make history in this particular tournament.”

Evelyn Badu picked up two MVP award in the 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League following her sterling displays.

Hasaacas Ladies will face host, Wadi Degla in their last group game at the 30 June Stadium on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at exactly 2:00pm local time.
