Mozambique, the surprise package will challenge Uganda. While Morocco will attack the host country, Senegal's prowess. The two-time defending champions confirm their leadership of Group A, following their 3-1 victory over Tanzania.
Senegal are in the semi-finals of their African Beach Soccer Cup. Ngalla Sylla's men have dominated (3-1), Tanzania for their second and last game of group A. Enough to finish ahead of Uganda (2nd). Tanzania is eliminated in the first round with this second defeat in as many outings.
"Everyone expected an easy game (against Tanzania). But a match is never won in advance'', commented Senegal coach Ngalla Sylla in the mixed zone. ''They scored quite early and I asked the boys to stay calm, not to rush. We ended up scoring three goals in the first third," added the Senegalese coach.
Morocco on their way to the final
Leading after 3 seconds of play in the first period, the Lions overturned the Taifa Stars thanks to Babacar Fall's third goal in the first and then a double from Mamadou Sylla. In the other semi-final, the surprising team of the tournament Mozambique, 1st of its group and winner of all three games, will play against Uganda. Both teams are the playing the final competition of a Beach Soccer AFCON for the very first time and their performances speak volumes.
