2020 Olympics - Doping: Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare disqualified

Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare has been suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit.

The information was announced by AFP. The 32-year-old athlete tested positive for growth hormone. Blessing Okagbare was one of Nigeria's biggest medal chances in the sprint. She qualified for the semi-finals. This year, she has been in very good shape. At her country's Olympic trials, she managed to break the African record by running 10s63. This Saturday, she was due to compete in the 200m semi-final.

A huge blow for Nigeria and the athlete who was tipped one of the semi final favorites for Saturday's race.
