Zambia female national football team will be the only African team at the upcoming Olympic Football Games in Tokyo. The She-polopolo have qualified directly after their victory over Cameroon. The Cameroonians, who had to go through the play-offs, were eliminated by Chile. The Indomitable Lionesses were no match for the Roja.
Beaten in the first leg by 2-1, the Cameroonians certainly reacted better, but the goalless draw yesterday against Chili was insufficient. Consequently, only Zambia will represent the continent at the next Olympics which will take place from 21 July to 6 August 2021.
China, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Great Britain, Germany. In addition to Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United States and Zambia are the qualified teams.
