Ethiopia are one of 14 nations who have already missed out as winners of the African Cup of Nations 2021 in Cameroon. The Ethiopians won the 1962 edition. But since then it has been a long desert for the Antelopes. They do not come very often and when they manage to qualify, it is to be devoured quickly. The Ethiopians were beaten by Cape Verde (0-1) and Cameroon (1-4) in group A, and have lost four times in a row in the competition. If they lose this afternoon to Burkina Faso, they will equal their worst ever record: 5 consecutive defeats between 1968 and 1970.
