Gabonese fans will be holding their breath before the Panthers' opening game against Comoros on Monday 10 January. Two of the team's key players, captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and midfielder Mario Lemina have tested positive for Covid-19. They were tested on arrival in Cameroon. The two players had already created controversy on Wednesday when they went to a nightclub partying in Dubai. Their participation in the first game of Gabon is therefore uncertain. Assistant coach Yalla Anicet also tested positive. These cases are in addition to that of the striker Aaron Boupendza, also infected.
