AFCON 2021: Sadio Mané now has a stadium named after him

The fallout from the African Cup of Nations win doesn't stop for the Lions of Senegal. After the honors and awards of the state, other privileges are granted to them. This is the case for Sadio Mané who will see the stadium of the city of Sédhiou, bear his name.

This is the announcement made, according to the Senegalese media Leral, by the Minister of Culture, who is also the mayor of this city in southern Senegal. The best player of the AFCON 2021 is also from this region. "Sadio Mané has honoured Senegal, the region of Sédhiou and the whole of Casamance. I would like, through this decision to give the name of Sadio Mané to the Stadium of Sédhiou, to express the recognition of all the worthy sons of the region, towards a man who makes known to the whole humanity, Bambali and its chief town of region, Sédhiou. Sadio Mané richly deserves this gift," said the politician.

Currently under construction, the municipal stadium of Sédhiou should therefore bear the name of the man who is currently considered the best Senegalese footballer in history.
