Afrobasket 2021: Cameroon falls to Uganda

Cameroon lost to Uganda in group D. The Ugandans are back on track after their loss to Senegal. Cameroon concedes its second defeat of the tournament, after the forfeit against South Sudan.

Cameroon quickly lost the end in this match. Uganda quickly took the lead. They were leading at the break by 44-33. The Ugandan fury was difficult to bear. Cameroon lost the third quarter 18-14. But the Cameroonians managed to win the fourth set by 19-18.

Unfortunately, this was not enough to get back on track. Final score: 80 to 66 for the Ugandans. The Ugandans relied on a strong team. Five of their players exceeded the 10-point mark. Adam Seiko (20 points), Robinson Opong (15 points), Deng Geu (14 points) and Arthur Kaluma (12 points). Ishmail Wainright came close to a double-double with 9 points and 12 rebounds.
