Afrobasket 2021: Mali beats Cameroon in Yaounde to make final

It was a great semi-final between Mali and Cameroon. The mano à mano lasted throughout the game played this Friday, September 25 at the Palais des Sports in Yaounde. In the end, Mali won with only one point difference (52-51). Very tight. The first semi-final was then of high quality. Tactical match, defensive rigor, both teams gave everything except that the Eagles of Mali defended their precarious lead tooth and nail.

Yet, it was Cameroon who won the first quarter with a 19-12. But Mali rebounded and won the next quarter with a score of 11-7. The Malians continued their domination in the third act 18-12 before losing again in the last quarter in favor of the Indomitable Lionesses (13-11). However, it was not enough for the host country.

Mali qualifies for the final and will play against Nigeria come Sunday.
