MATCHS DU JOUR 3
Nigeria was back in action in Group C. The D-tigers are coming off a great first win against Mali. The match against Kenya, however, was not an easy one. The start of the match did not look like it would be. The Nigerians quickly took the lead. The first quarter ended with a score of 20-8 against a helpless but determined Kenyan side.
With more impact and aggression, the Kenyans managed to come back and win 18-14 in the second half. The score at half-time was 34-26 for Nigeria, who were surely not expecting such adversity.
Nigeria then decided to step on the gas in the second half. The D-tigers found their skill while tightening the lines in defence. A gap began to open up as Nigeria led by 10 points at the start of the final quarter. The last set was a formality with the lead already established. Albert Odero finished as the game's leading scorer with 23 points. He just missed a double-double (8 rebounds). Final score: 71-55. Nigeria can look forward to the rest of the competition in Kigali, Rwanda as two wins can already guarantee knock out stages for the team.
