Christine Mboma will soon be back on the track. The 22-year-old sprinter will kick off her season in Namibia, her coach Henk Botha announced. "We have started our preparations for the new season well and have done some light training. Before the international competitions start, we plan to start by competing in two local competitions as this will help us to see where we are in terms of preparation. We have been training at home in Namibia and I say it has gone pretty well.
The Olympic runner-up will then compete in two Continental Tour Gold events. "After the local events, we will focus on the big competitions such as the Gaborone International Meet, which takes place at the end of April, as well as the Kip Keino Classic in Kenya, which takes place in early May. We want to start the season on a good note," Botha says.
Despite an injury in May 2022, Mboma managed to win silver in the 200m at the Commonwealth Games.
