Heristone Wanyonyi has added a medal to Kenya's collection at the World U20 Athletics Championships in Nairobi. The 18-year-old athlete won gold in the 10km walk on Saturday 21 August. He clocked a time of 42mn10s84.
Wanyonyi finished well ahead of his rivals, namely India's Amit, second (42mn17s94), and Spain's Paul McGrathinho, third (42mn26s.11).
The African continent now has 21 medals in these championships. And Kenya still leads the medal table.
