Kevin Anderson crowned in Newport
South African Kevin Anderson has won his seventh title on the grass court in Newport (USA). He beat the young American Jenson Brooksby in two sets (7-6, 6-4) in the final of the ATP 250 tournament on Sunday.
The 35-year-old thus wins the seventh title of his career, the first since 2019.'' This victory motivates me to continue," he confided. The former world number 5 had three complicated years plagued by injuries.
Despite his downfall, Anderson remains without doubt one of the best servers on the circuit. The former Wimbledon 2018 finalist finally regained his place in the world's top 100 on Monday. Anderson is now ranked 74th.
