MATCHS DU JOUR 10
Rafael Nadal is out of the Australian Open. The Spaniard lost in the second round to American Mackenzie McDonald (4-6, 4-6, 5-7) on Wednesday night. However, the defending champion suffered a groin injury in the middle of the second set. This prevented him from continuing the match properly.
After the match, the Spaniard spoke to the press. When asked if he had thought about giving up the match, he answered in a candid manner. "I asked myself the question. I tried to play without aggravating the pain. I couldn't hit the backhand at all, I couldn't run behind the ball. But I wanted to finish this match," admitted Rafael Nadal.
