Senegal, who beat Brazil in the quarter-finals, know their semi-final opponent in the World Beach Soccer Championship. Japan defeated Tahiti (5-4) in the other quarter-final and will therefore be the opponent of the African champion on Saturday 28 August.
Senegal and Japan had met in a friendly as part of the preparation for the World Cup. The Lions won the match on penalties (5-5, 3-2 on penalties).
Senegal will try to repeat the same performance to qualify for a historic beach soccer World Cup final.
