CAF has granted a special dispensation to Cameroon for the submission of the names of its representatives in African competitions. The decision comes following a request by the president of the Cameroon Football Federation. It is thus extended until 8 August 2021.
June 30, 2021 is the deadline. However, for FECAFOOT, this deadline cannot be respected. The professional championships have been at a standstill in Cameroon since the end of the first phase two months ago. The president of FECAFOOT, Seidou Mbombo Njoya, has therefore submitted a request to CAF for a waiver.
"The president of FECAFOOT has submitted a request to CAF for the extension of the deadline for the submission of the names of Cameroon's representatives in African competitions. This request has been accepted and extended to August 8," reveals Parfait Siki, the Director of Communication of FECAFOOT, in an interview with Radio Sport Info (RSI) on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.
The country of the Indomitable Lions thus have a new chance to keep the two places reserved for them in the inter-club competitions of CAF (one in the CAF Cup and one in the Champions League).
