Burundi's U23 national team has qualified for the final of the CECAFA tournament in Ethiopia.
Jimmy Ndayizeye's players have just eliminated Kenya on Tuesday 27 July. After a goalless draw, the two teams went directly to the penalty shootout. Burundi, more skillful and precise during the exercise, won 4-2. Burundian goalkeeper Onésime Rukundo saved two penalties and thus contributed greatly to his team's success.
In the final, Burundi will play against their neighbors Tanzania. In the semi-final, the Tanzanians beat South Sudan (1-0).
