MATCHS DU JOUR 10
The 33rd edition of the Tour du Faso has come and gone. After 10 stages punctuated by ups and downs, it is finally on a good note that this African and even world cycling event has closed its curtains.
It's over. After ten stages, the Tour du Faso 2021 came to an end on Sunday 7 November. The 128 km long distance between Kombissiri and Ouagadougou was the last circuit. And it was the South African Basson Gustav who won the last round. He completed the distance in 2 hours 47 minutes 50 seconds with an average speed of 46.295 km/h.
Burkinabe Souleymane Koné in the top 3
In the general classification of the Tour du Faso, it is the German Bichlmann Daniels from the Swiss team, who keeps the jersey that has been on his shoulders for three stages. Bichlmann Daniels wins the Tour. He is followed by the Belgian Wouters Rutger, the first yellow jersey of this edition.
But Rutger was not able to keep his cruising speed during the competition. He inherited the green jersey and the Algerian Hamza Yacine took the pink jersey of the intermediate sprints. In the general classification, Souleymane Koné from Burkina Faso is in third place and Bichlmann Daniels is in first place.
It is clear that the organizing country was counting on its cycling virtuoso, Paul Daumont. Unfortunately, the Burkinabe leader was not present in this Tour du Faso, even if he finished on the podium in the 8th stage.
