The National Football League of the DRC (LINAFOOT) has decided to exclude four clubs from the Ligue 2 championship in the Eastern zone. FC Nkoy Bilombe from Maniema, FC Ouragan from Haut-Uele, FC Vivi from South Kivu and FC Etincelle from Butembo are concerned. "The four clubs are excluded for having received three forfeits for total absence from the field during this season 2022-2023."
To make this decision, the Management Committee of LINAFOOT was based on Article 208 paragraph 3 of the General Sports Regulations of FECOFA. This article stipulates that a team that has to forfeit three matches for total absence from the field during the same championship is automatically excluded.
According to the notification from LINAFOOT, FC Etincelle, FC Vivi and FC Ouragan had not even completed the administrative formalities to qualify their players.
