The coach of the Cameroon national team Antonio Conceiçao will remain in charge of the Indomitable Lions until 2023. Initially under contract until this September, the lease of the Portuguese coach has been extended by two years. The signing of the new contract took place this Friday, August 27, 2021 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Sports in Yaounde.
Antonio Conceiçao, who was recruited two years ago, has always known that he will be maintained at the head of the technical supervision of the five-time African champions. The objectives were almost 100% achieved," he said in an interview with SNA. It was a question of giving the opportunity to young players, to call up players from the local championship, to finish first in our group during the AFCON 2021 qualifiers, to improve the FIFA ranking of Cameroon, to present files/strategies to improve youth football in Cameroon.
For his new contract, Antonio Conceiçao has two priority missions to fulfil. To qualify Cameroon for the next World Cup and then to lead the Indomitable Lions to victory at the 2021 African Cup of Nations. Two missions that will determine whether he will go to the end of his new contract or beyond.
