England legend Jamie Carragher has suggested Liverpool should increase Mohamed Salah's wages. The Egyptian is reportedly demanding €500,000 a week, which would make him the club's highest paid player. It would also force the board to exceed its wage bill ceiling. But according to Carragher, Liverpool must give in to Salah's demand.
"Exceptional players deserve to be treated as an exception," he said.
For the former Reds defender, the Pharaoh is a Liverpool legend. "If anyone puts together the Liverpool XI of all time, Salah has to be in it," Carragher told The Telegraph. Mohamed Salah is currently Liverpool's top scorer this season. The 29-year-old has scored eight goals and provided two assists.
