The match between DR Congo and Tanzania on 2 September will be played behind closed doors. This is CAF's decision ahead of the day one match of the FIFA 2022 world cup qualifier.
The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) had requested the presence of 9,000 persons at the stadium in Lubumbashi but the continental body said no. The match will therefore take place without spectators.
CAF said that this decision was taken after analysis and evaluation of the health situation, the conformity to the stadium requirements and the safety and security of the site.
CAF has also asked FECOFA to comply with this decision under penalty of disciplinary sanctions in case of non-compliance.
