MATCHS DU JOUR 2
The final of the senior women's handball Africa Cup of Nations will be played on Friday 18 June. Cameroon, the host country of the tournament will face Angola, the two-time defending champion. The two finalists won their tickets on Wednesday.
In the first semi-final, the Palancas Negras defeated Tunisia 27-23. While the Lionesses defeated Congo on the wire (22-21). The Cameroonians beat the Congolese on the same score as in their confrontation in the quarterfinals of the 2018 edition. Ekoh Karishma and her teammates will meet the band of Albertina Kassoma for a dream final between two teams who have accounts to settle.
The duel between Cameroon and Angola is indeed a classic in women's handball. The two nations have already faced each other several times in the Africa Cup of Nations. But this match will be a second time for a final, after 2004. Cameroon beat Angola in the group phase (28-27), then lost in the final (20-31). But that was 17 years ago. The Indomitable Lionesses have changed a lot. This year, they promise not to make the same mistakes especially on home soil.
