Morocco D1: Raja takes the lead
Raja Casablanca have won the double. The Greens, who were second to Wydad at the start of the Moroccan clasico, have taken the lead in the standings. After their victory (3-2) over the Royal Armed Forces (AS FAR) of Rabat, Sunday evening at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
Raja (39 points) conceded the opening goal in a hard-fought match before equalizing through the inevitable Ben Malango. The Congolese international striker, who is currently the league's top scorer, scored his 11th league goal and now totals 18 goals in all competitions. Soufiane Rahimi doubled the lead in the second half. The latter scored his 8th goal of the season with as many assists.
AS FAR came back into the game after a penalty was awarded and converted by Reda Slim. However, the same penalty was given against the military following a move by Rahimi. The newcomer Mahmou Benhalib converted the penalty to give Raja three important points at the expense of Wydad Casablanca (38 points).
