Olympic Games: Pregnant Taekwondo fighter Naomie Kasumpata disqualified

As she was about to face the Ivorian Ruth Gbagbi in the 8th final of the -67kg, the Congolese Naomie Katoka Kasumpata was disqualified by the organizing committee of the Games. The reason is that the athlete is pregnant. This is indeed what the tests reveal. Competition rules will immediately expel her from participating .

On the side of the Congolese Federation of Taekwondo (FECOT), they speak of an excess weight of 300 grams over the normal weight as the main cause of her disqualification.

Naomie Katoka Kasumpata's dream of a medal was shattered. She left the competition before it had even begun. However, this story is far from over. There will certainly be an investigation to determine who is responsible.
